How to get a good Microblading result?
Lets talk abut eyebrow shaping , in particular about Microblading. This semi – permanent eyebrow tattoo process so sought after nowadays, also in Cyprus, Limassol.
At this point , i am sure that 90 % of women & young girls between the age of 13-70 that access the internet have already heard about it.Of course this treatment is available only for clients above the age of 17, but i mean the fact, that the blogs, vlogs , youtube and all social media also are actually flooded with information and we can stumble upon things at a very early age.
So, you might ask many questions while in the process of deciding for the treatment , or not.some of the questions are: how do you really get ready for microblading ?
Why do you take 2 hours for your microblading brows while others do it in 30 minutes ? Why do i need to go for consultation ? How many times do i need to visit you ? & more , and more!
Knowing & following these small details below will make a BIG difference in your brows !
What You SHOULD Do Before & After Your Microblading Treatment
I’ve been performing microblading & shading since 2015 ,( yes thats 4 years, one of the 1rst ones in Limassol).
While working , I’ve met several different type of brows, sparse, hairy, bushy, blonde, ginger, grey, no brows, faded brows and done also many color corrections and touch-ups.
I have experimented with mixed techniques get better results. This is particularly important as the healing process in the country where i studied and got certified in Microblading Eyebrow Tattoo ( by Alexandra Academy in Hungary) is a bit different then in the country where i am living in Cyprus.
Our amazing weather:, sun exposure , salty air , humidity, wind from the sea… sweating, it all makes things different here in Cyprus.
If we follow the right pre-care and aftercare it can result in better, much nicer Eyebrows!
Knowing just how important prep and aftercare are, i have done throughout the years the following combinations: dry microblading, wet microblading, topical painrelief, emla, and no pain block. Washing, no washing, applied creams , oils and ointments in aftercare, and not…. whatever you can think of, we tried!
And, yes, i did “experiment” on myself, on my own skin.
To help you understand whats happening in your microblading sessions, here are my best practices in our hot summer country, Cyprus:
PRE-SESSION to do & avoid :
The skin is like a wall, yes it has holes, pores, wrinkles little pimples, blackheads that has to be flattened, smoothened out and prepped properly, before we can even think of your brow shape. A good prep is the foundation to every perfect brow.
The eyebrow area must be healthy, and non-irritated.
You can get your skin ready for this, easily at home:
Skip gym or any workout the same day , before the Microblading sessions
Plan any botox, dermal fillers, fractional laser 1 month before the treatment
Plan any lid or other plastic surgery on the face 6 months before the procedure
Stop taking Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week before, as they are natural blood thinners
Avoid pick/tweeze/wax/tint and any facial hair removal one week beforeDon’t tan two weeks prior to the brow service
No facials 2 weeks priorI cannot stress it enough, that we need the pigment to “catch ” nicely and be able to deposit into the skin easily.
Excessive bleeding is really setting us back from doing that. In order to avoid it:PAINKILLERS should be avoided (natural blood thinners)ALCOHOL consumption is not allowed 48 hours before your tattooCOFFEE has to be skipped on the day of your appointment, prior the procedure
Let’s continue with the aftercare, for the perfect microblading results!
AFTERCARE:
Day 1:
Lymphatic fluidsAlthough your brow is not bleeding, it is acting like you got wounded, it is creating the substance of healing ; white cells that fight infection. This has to be wiped off with a dabbing motion latest the time you go to sleep on the evening.
Days 1-10:
Keep the brows clean & skip gym and no brow makeup!Wash daily with a dabbing motion to remove bacteria, build up of natural oils, dust, and dead skin. Again, this will help, not to catch an unwanted infection. I advise to use destilled water for this.
Days 1-10: Dry healing vs MoisturizeIn 99 % of the cases , i suggest my clients to use the dry healing method, as we sweat and produce more oils in Cyprus, than in other non-summery countries . So the natural oils of our skin, do keep the brows moisturised enough. If you have a super dry type of skin, you can use 1 drop of natural oil like coconut or e-vitamin oil on your brows – just make sure you o not soak them.
Aftercare Checklist:
Clean pillows after your appointment!
No picking of the scabs , let them dry-heal and fall naturally, otherwise you might damage the skin and have scars.Again, forget about facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion until 1 month passed.
Stay away from direct sun for the next mont, wear hats & sunglasses ALL THE TIME outdoors.
These above will make sure to get the best possible brows we can imagine, pre-plan and make for you.
Me + You + Your skin , we play all important roles on how your Eyebrow Microblading will look & last.
